Do I have to register in advance?
There is no need to book in advance, however to get you and your young people through the doors quicker you can sign up in advance here! Don't worry if you don't yet know final numbers - you can change those as you arrive with one of The Mix registration team. We ask that a youth leader signs in as they arrive. This does not require us to know the details of each young person, but rather how many young people are a group and providing some contact details should we need to be in touch in the future.
What is the age limit?
The Mix is open to those aged 11-18.
Who runs The Mix?
The Mix is lead by a group of youth leaders from around the Bristol region who are passionate about seeing young people have life-changing encounters with Jesus. Each are committed members to local churches. The Mix is facilitated and funded by Müllers as part of their mission to "Strengthen the Church to meet the needs of the vulnerable." What is your approach to Safeguarding?
We encourage young people to come as part of their church's youth group along with youth leaders. For the duration of the evening the youth group comes under the safeguarding policy of their home church. Any young people who attend on their own are assigned to the host church's youth group, and therefore, come under their safeguarding policy.
Should a member of The Mix team have concerns about the safeguarding of a young person we shall contact an appropriate person from the church of the young person.
Prayer ministry is encouraged on the nights and we ask youth groups to pray with members, and youth leaders, of their own groups.
All members of The Mix team have been through the DBS process and have received safeguarding training.
How often does The Mix meet?
The Mix meets four times a year, though dates can vary. The usual pattern is meeting for the beginning of the new academic year, Christmas, Easter, and Summer.
What role do youth leaders play in The Mix?
Youth leaders have a key role to play in the evenings. We encourage youth leaders to sit with their group to be aware of any needs that come up across the night. We also encourage youth leaders to pray with their group too. Finally, we hugely value feedback from youth leaders so we can make the Mix the best it can be.
